Thanks Dy for joining me this morning for a lovely run! Just 2 Hillbillies this beautiful morning, we decided to head off to Kirstenbosh for some fresh air and scenery - and a last longish run for me before my Winelands taper really starts.

Route Profile
We headed up along Dean Street for a hilly start, then followed our old favourite route along Newlands Avenue and over the M3. Down to Boshoff for a relaxing run beneath the trees before heading up, up and up to Stone Church for a brief water break. We didn't linger, we headed right off again and up Winchester, to tackle good ol' Glastonbury Drive. Then up some more and over Gloucester to take the 'scenic route' to Kirstenbosch along Klaasens Road (less traffic too, especially at that time of the morning. Another quick water stop at Kirstenbosch Top Gate and we were floating through the Gardens, admiring view and scenery and fresh sweet air!

All too soon we were out of Kirstenbosch again and heading down the road back towards the M3. Halfway along, we met up with an older lady just running out of Winchester. She quickly caught up with us and the 3 of us ran together for the whole of Riverside Road, with this lady setting quite a mean pace. We had a lovely conversation, and we discovered that this lady has been running for 40+ years, and still going strong!! Very inspiring! I'll be happy just to be running at age 60+ Running and enjoying it.

Route Map
We left her at the M3 - she motored up the hill towards home, and Dy and I begged the traffic lights to change quickly so that we could get across the road before traffic started flowing again. We made it across, and kept up the pace all the way back to Great Westerford. Tired but happy from our run, we headed off to face our separate days.
